What are Q Cards?
Q Cards are a unique line of handcrafted greeting cards.

The front of each card features a beautiful original abstract piece of art by Jamie Brower accompanied by a famous handwritten quote. Each piece of artwork comes from a specific series of paintings. Every series has been given a name and number. These original cards are produced on fine bright-white linen card stock. Each card is blank on the inside. Single folded, they measure 5 ½” x 4¼”. Sealed in a protective clear envelope, all cards are accompanied by a white envelope.

The original cards are handwritten in black ink and feature a piece of original artwork from Jamie Brower.

These are not your ordinary greeting cards. When you buy a Q Card, you will probably find it difficult to give it away for it is truly unique. Once you see the beauty of the rich colors and textures combined with the elegant script, your imagination is captured. You’ll feel confident that when you finally do send it to someone, they will want to keep it. When you give a Q Card, you are giving more than a card. You are giving a piece of art, perfect for framing!

"Quotes are nothing but inspiration for the uninspired."
~Richard Kemph

Homonyms
A cue card, in the world of entertainment, is a large piece of paper with the lines written for an actor or newsperson while on stage or television. The “Q” in Q Cards stands for Quote and is the “Q” in Unique. We thought Q Cards was a fitting name for the creations because many of the original quotes we had were from movies and actors. Here's where the "cue" and "Q" come together. The collection of quotes has grown to include words of wisdom and bits of humor. The sources are timeless- philosophers, poets, authors, actors, comedians, celebrities, artists, as well as some unknown individuals.

Who creates the cards?
Jamie Brower is the creator of Q Cards and each original card is handcrafted by her.

How are the cards created?
The process goes like this:
1. Music is chosen
2. The mind is cleared
3. Perhaps a few pieces of Dove chocolate are on hand.
4. Paint!

Three pieces of watercolor paper are set side by side. Each piece is then painted with watercolor and acrylics in the same style and color scheme. This “trilogy”, when completed, is given a name and assigned a number. An original card is then created with a fragment of the trilogy and a handwritten quote specifically chosen to accompany each deckled piece of art. The series from which every piece of art originates is indicated on the back of each card.

What is deckled art?
The technique of tearing paper results in a “deckled” effect. It’s part of what creates the texture and uniqueness of Q Cards.

The power of words
Everyone has a line they love or a quote that inspires them. We treasure words and especially those with personal meaning to celebrate particular occasions or to connect with others. Seeing words on paper can seem magical- they can bring a tear, elicit a chuckle, and even turn a life around. Words are not ours to keep, but ours to share with each other. Q Cards is a creative and beautiful way to make an impact.

The power of colors
A common theme running through Q Cards is the color red. Red is the signature color of the Q Card logo. It is splashed and brushed and dripped and soaked into every piece of art. Red is for passion, for love, for the life force that flows through us all. But in addition to red, the colors found in every Q Card are always brilliant and rich and perfectly combined with each other. The layers of paint applied to the thick watercolor paper result in a multi-sensory experience of hues and textures.
