In 1996 I started painting as a hobby- a little escape from daily domestic duties. As a mother of four girls, I found that a few hours here and there painting provided a great way to express my creativity. The first beginnings of Q Cards were inspired by my first toddler as she was finger painting- swirling and splattering colors. It looked like so much fun, that I started experimenting with my own techniques until I found what worked for me. Then one day, after painting a large piece of paper and re-reading an Eric Carle book for what seemed like the millionth time, I decided to tear the painting into pieces and put them on blank cards. I had already been collecting inspirational and motivational quotes, so by combining the artwork and words, Q Cards were born.
