In 1996 Jamie started painting as a hobby- a little escape from daily domestic duties. As a mother of four girls, she found that a few hours here and there painting provided a great way to express her creativity. The first beginnings of Q Cards were inspired by her (then one-year old daughter) finger painting. Watching her swirling and splattering paints, the child would come up with wonderful designs. Jamie experimented with her own techniques until she found what worked for her. Then one day, after painting a large piece of paper and re-reading an Eric Carle book for what seemed like the millionth time, she decided to tear the painting into pieces and put them on blank cards. She had already been collecting inspirational and motivational quotes, so by combining the artwork and words, Q Cards were born.
